INDIANAPOLIS ? The structure of the NCAA tennis championships will remain unchanged.
The Division I Championships/Sports Management Cabinet rejected a proposal this week that would have reduced the number of men?s and women?s teams advancing to the finals site from 16 to four and shortened the finals from 12 to eight days.
The cabinet rejected proposals that would have removed the warm-up with the opponent before singles and doubles competition, reduced the time between singles and doubles from 10 to five minutes and shortened changeovers from 90 seconds to 60.
Last month, the Division I Men?s and Women?s Tennis Committee rescinded a proposed tiebreaker procedure that was opposed by the U.S. Tennis Association and Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
