Art Under the Trees
The 67th Annual Buck Hill Fine Arts and Crafts Festival
July 20thnd-21st, 2012

Art in a most artistic setting.

En plein aire ? that?s how many of the world?s most important artists preferred to paint ? out of the studio, in the inspiring world of nature.? And this summer, that?s where you?ll see an inspiring collection of today?s artists and artisans: under the trees in the beautiful, historic, Pocono resort community of Buck Hill Falls,

Buck Hill Falls

Founded by Philadelphia Quakers in 1901, Buck Hill Falls offers charming turn-of-the-century shingle-style homes with stone columns and gracious porches.? Bridges and walls of native stone wind through the community, which features trails along crystal-clear streams and rushing waterfalls, as well as classic tennis facilities, a 27-hole golf course, and a magnificent swimming pool.

New Format, Concentrated Art

The 67th Annual Buck Hill Fine Arts and Crafts Festival is rolling out a new format, concentrating its treasures into two days:? Friday July 20th and Saturday the 21st.

On Friday, artists will be open for business at 3:30 PM.? The traditional Art Until Dark cocktail party, with cash bar, starts at 6 PM.? Early arrival at the Arts Festival is always a good idea, to get first dibs on the works you love.

The show will continue on Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM.

A WEEKEND OF ART

It will be a weekend celebration of the arts in Buck Hill and Mountainhome, with the Arts Festival taking place in Buck Hill Falls, the BuckHill Skytop Music Festival kicking off, the great Antiques Show at the Mountainhome Methodist Church, and exhibitions at the Local Flair Art Gallery and the Sprag Mill Art Gallery.

Art Show Co-Chair Kathy Legg is very enthusiastic about the heightened level of energy surrounding this year?s show:? ?The combination of the fantastic visual artists we?ve pulled together for the art show and the expansion of the music festival in its third year make for an incredible celebration of the arts in Buck Hill.?

The Art Show?s Friday evening kickoff

Judging and awards take place on Friday, and the festive atmosphere is enhanced by the Art Until Dark cocktail party (cash bar).? Sip a glass of wine while choosing the art works you think deserve ribbons ? and see how your choices match up to the judges?.

Special Art Subsidy for Friday Night Buyers!

There?s no recession in the Art Association?s commitment to art.? And to prove it, we?re offering a special raffle on Friday evening, with the winner or winners receiving reimbursement for artworks purchased that night from a fund of $250 provided by the Art Association.? So, if you have your eye on a special painting, you just might be lucky enough to have the Buck Hill Art Association help you put it on your wall.

Plus, Arts Festival purchases allow the Buck Hill Art Association to continue our commitment to providing scholarships to local students who choose to pursue the study of art in college.

A Commitment to Learning

The Arts Festival will also feature MFA students from the acclaimed New York Academy of Art in New York City.? Featured Artist Zach Brown will be exhibiting his paintings as well as providing demonstrations of painting techniques such as glazing and gilding.
