Salary Range: Salary will align with the level of experience and skills demonstrated by the employee.
Years of Experience: at least six years of experience in project management and at least 2 years in a position of managing direct reports.

Position Summary:
The Director of Project Management (DPM) plans, directs, and ensures the successful management of projects utilizing the complete resources of the operations and assigned project management teams. The DPM provides assistance in identifying, evaluating and developing methods and procedures that are efficient, effective and meet good business practice.
This DPM maintains excellent communication with upper management both within and across departments to ensure smooth running of all projects undertaken by the team. S/he is responsible for leading the team in a focused manner, providing help where necessary to project a professional image.
DPM must have demonstrable experience in project management and is able to lead in the coaching and mentoring of team members to help them achieve individual expectations and deliverables.
DPM assesses resource loads and makes appropriate individual assignments, manages and mentors the members of the team ? driving organizational effectiveness and accountability.
DPM serves as a key liaison with the rest of the functional groups and business facilitating planning, prioritization and collaboration between groups.
Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate, track and monitor the implementation of projects as it relates to the duties of the project management team
  • Act as the escalation resource for project managers and external clients as needed
  • Ensure that projects are proactively managed, executed according to schedules and within the resourcing expectations of the project scope
  • Promptly tracks and resolves issues (as they relate to project management best practice and process), revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Develops/Communicates project management standards and best practices
  • Resource Planning ? responsible for assigning resources to projects and ensuring that the project manager understands the scope and deliverables as identified in the project briefs, adjusts the resource plan as necessary and manages the workload of the department resources
  • Hiring of all resources for the department whether full time employees or contract resources as necessary
  • Lead weekly department calls with team
  • Establishing and managing department processes: oversee follow-through of project briefs, timeline creation, time tracking, project close processes, project kick-off calls, creation of project overview documents, project set-up template creation / process implementation
  • Management of department training for current employees and new hires
  • Act as key liaison on PM department initiatives and goals
  • Manage all personnel issues for project management team including performance reviews, ?vacation requests and backup plans
  • Work closely with EVP Operations, EVP General Manager, Director Project Development to work on processes as they related to project implementation and global company operations

  • Ability to manage and mentor a diverse team across a virtual organization
  • Proven project management skills; ability to organize and prioritize multiple complex projects
  • Proven communication skills; both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff, all levels of management
  • Proven team-building skills with technical and non-technical staff
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
