RE/MAX Results CEO Organizes Philanthropic Mt. Kilimanjaro ...

RE/MAX Results CEO Lynn Foulke is combining her sense of adventure with RE/MAX?s tradition of charitable giving, according to the company: In Jan. 2013, she?ll lead a group of RE/MAX associates on a 16-day trip to Tanzania, East Africa. Participants will complete a 7-day hike to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro (19,340 feet above sea level), and provide financial and supplies donations to the Tanzanian Organization Facilitating Community Development Projects (TAFCOM), a non-government agency committed to the elimination of poverty by providing for the wellbeing of vulnerable children, HIV/AID?s social outreach, women?s health and economic viability and environmental conservation. The funds provided by RE/MAX associates and their supporters will complete the building of and provide ongoing support for a new early childhood education center, home to 45 AIDS orphans and other destitute children.

?The mission of this trip is to combine philanthropy with high adventure,? says Foulke. ?Recognizing that we?ll use the resources of Tanzania while we are there, part of our responsible trekking initiative is to leave something behind that is positive and sustaining to the community.?

In addition to financial contributions, participating associates will be responsible for gathering and donating school supplies for the children?s center and warm winter wear in good condition for the porters that support mountain climbing efforts in the area.

All financial contributions will directly benefit children?s charities within each trekker?s local community as well as within the host country of Tanzania, with contributions divided evenly between trekker-identified local charities in North America and TAFCOM. The minimum charitable contribution for each hiker is $1,000 USD.
